Propagation delay for CAN is defined by the CAN standard as the time from TXD through the driver, external to bus, back through the receiver to RXD. It is also called loop delay.

I think on a cable the propagation delay is determined by the RC constant.

I thought propagation delay is defined by distance divided by speed of light. Would it be directly proportional to the distance of travel? If the propagation delay is seen the same as the definition of delay through logic gate, it makes a bit more sense. It sounds to be like processing delay though.
