Motorola used to be well respected in the analog world back in the 80's. With Gregg Lowe at the helm now, I believe Freescale will retrieve some of that respect and success again in the analog world. I used to work under Gregg Lowe while at TI. He's a personable and capable leader. I hope the best for him and Freescale. - Mike Peralta Device Modeling Engineer Medtronic Tempe Campus peralta_mike@hotmail.com

I would doubt anyone is looking to acquire Freescale. They have way too much debt.

I don't know why Freescale would go in that direction. On was that piece and it split off from Motorola earlier.

Freescale has definitely made very good strides in the past three years to get into good shape. I believe the new leader will continue to improve the business.

@daleste, is it a possibility that Freescale is planning to venture big time into analog business ?

@Selinz, do you think success is as simple as that equation ? If that is the case everyone will start hiring TI guy.

Lost talent for TI, I am not sure if Lowe can manage to lead the Freescale team, they are not easy to integrate, however I wish him all the best, he is one of the best in the industry
