I recall an earlier news about the fab site (the states) but don't remember if that was finalized...any idea where this is going to be...Karnataka? or anywhere else? Hope to see no more scam around this again.

It will be interesting to see which companies will come forward for this fab building. Is the government is going to provide any subsidies to these fabrication houses?

Glad to know that the Indian government has already got proposals from different market players. I hope they will take speedy decision on this rather than delaying the proposal because China has already taken the lead in semiconductor business.

While the Government of India does this , it should also plan for the associated infrastructure required to set up such plants. This work has to start much earlier as without proper infrastructure availability no global company would come forward for this project

No thanks. India is already specialized in fabric, blankets and cotton yarn products.
