This is very encouraging news for MIPS. They should win few more and Chinese organization can help in this. You do not need ARM for everything. MIPS new cores are very advanced. Also end user do not care what core is inside.

Does cost advantage mean it's cheap? I do get that sense from the Chinese that they are extra cheap. Usually don't they just steal the IP or software to get it for free? Like when Huawei stole the Cisco router?
