Wow! P2P file sharing is going to go to another level with high speed direct physical links. And best of all no policing possible!

I believe that Direct-LTE will play a key role in the future. I think we need to hear more about it. But I see a bright future ahead.

Very interesting. Didn't thought before of using the cellular wireless technology for a direct connection. But seems that the demand for this is just popping now with the advent of GPS based positioning and collaboration or peer to peer computing. It seams this application for LTE will take some time still to hit the market, in the mean time, Bluetooth is also an option. A very short range option though.

Direct LTE will be giving extreme power to the Mobile Applications if deployed on the handsets. A range of 500 mts can be said very good for a campus/business activities. May be micro cells will add up more in this regard.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
