@Brian Bailey: I think Cadence acquired Sigrity for a fraction of what it was worth. If you look at similar acquisitions (like Ansys buying Ansoft, although the latter had deeper product portfolio than Sigrity), it was $800+M, not a paltry $80M that Sigrity got!. More over, Cadence will be duplicating many capabilities it already had before the acquisition of Sigrity. MP Divakar

@jlf, it is the other way around, Ansys can buy Cadence! Look at the market cap of Ansys against Cadence! Nonetheless, I would argue that Ansys has much better end-to-end solution when it comes to packaging simulations. Cadence is missing the entire mechanical simulation tools where Ansys is king!
