Thanks Chris -- I was thinking that when I started work, my mom would have been so proud to see my name up on something like an EE Times site (I bet Ms. Smith's mother is telling all of her family and friends :-)

I think that they just wanted to give a youngster a bit of a boost -- I typically don't do anything when I see "Company XYZ just got a new CEO" -- I think "who cares" - -but in this case I thought it was real nice that they would try to make a bit of a splash for a newcomer...

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
