Perhaps if IC's don't have the margins there accustomed to there are other areas that do! And the Quality of Life improvements can only be imagined at this point.

Intel into bionics. The biometric world has infinite opportunities and here with Intel's new technology it seems with over 30 different types of arthritis physicians would be able to know exactly what type of arthritis they are dealing with. Then treating it is very specific and cure is faster.

Custom diagnosis and treatment is the way modern medecine is heading and ICT is playing a major role in this already. I think we will one day have micro and nano agents embedded in our bodies which can be programmed adaptively to fight off emerging diseases. The equivalent of going to a doctor would be a simple matter of scanning one's body to download the latest anti-illness programme :-)

This sounds like a very cool technology. Would anyone from Intel or Stanford be interested in giving a plenary talk on this topic at emerging technologies symposium in Whistler in 2013? www.cmoset.com
