Custom diagnosis and treatment is the way modern medecine is heading and ICT is playing a major role in this already. I think we will one day have micro and nano agents embedded in our bodies which can be programmed adaptively to fight off emerging diseases. The equivalent of going to a doctor would be a simple matter of scanning one's body to download the latest anti-illness programme :-)

Intel into bionics. The biometric world has infinite opportunities and here with Intel's new technology it seems with over 30 different types of arthritis physicians would be able to know exactly what type of arthritis they are dealing with.Then treating it is very specific and cure is faster.

Perhaps if IC's don't have the margins there accustomed to there are other areas that do! And the Quality of Life improvements can only be imagined at this point.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
