It is very frustrating to read a product announcement such as this...and then go to the mfr's website (in this case www.maxim-ic.com) only to discover that the announced part number cannot be found on the site! Manufacturers: If you don't have any info on a product, don't advertise it!!!

@littlemac: You're right. This was an error on our part. Our policy is not to mention a part without at least a preliminary data sheet. We have now posted the information on the two missing parts: http://www.maximintegrated.com/MAX31865 -- RTD-to-Digital Converter http://www.maximintegrated.com/MAX78638 -- Three Phase Energy Measurement and Motor Diagnostics Device Thank you for taking us to task. We are fixing our procedures to prevent recurrence. -- Moe Rubenzahl, Executive Director of Internet Marketing, Maxim Integrated

The info seems done in a hurry, a wry smile at this : "Status: Not Recommended for New Designs " Really ? - and still no Data, just a landing page with errors. So I have no idea of the package, or price, of the MAX78638

Yes, it's a preliminary part. We don't like to pre-announce parts but there are a few exceptions. Click the link to be notified when a full data sheet is available. You'll get an automatic e-mail when more data is available.

What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
