Wow, this leaves me aching to find out whether the personnel changes will affect the direction of Windows. For example, as a start, what does Julie Larson-Green think of Windows 8 or of Windows Live? Given the apparently controversial nature of Sinofsky's tenure, were some of the Windows 8 features also considered controversial within Microsoft?
Are we to look forward to a Windows 9 in the near future, I guess is what I'm curious about. Or perhaps at the very least, a substantial change introduced with Windows 8 SP1? Curious minds would love to know.
This is very odd to have such an important executive to leave a company, especially just after the launch of a very strategical product. I wonder if this indeed has already affected the development of Microsoft.
What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Are the design challenges the same as with embedded systems, but with a little developer- and IT-skills added in? What do engineers need to know? Rick Merritt talks with two experts about the tools and best options for designing IoT devices in 2016. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
