NASA announced Monday (12/17) that the GRAIL impact site will be named for Sally Ride, the first U.S. woman in space. Sally Ride died in July 2012.

I agree - seems a missed opportunity to gain knowledge and at the same time put on a show to raise the profile of space exploration. Find another target on the shadow line NASA!!
