What a neat device. I would love to try it on a robot for navigational purposes. If the cost is low enough, maybe use it on arms/legs for robotic applications as well.

The combo offering with inertial and magnetic sensing along with sensor fusion algorithms on the micro is now the standard from big players (ST, Freescale, InvenSense, etc.). In addition to pricing, the differentiation must come from smaller form factors and vertical integrations -literally with 3D IC stacking, etc., for more integrated solution offering. MP Divakar

This is really neat device from Bosch. I am curious to know if free-fall protection feature is already available in smartphones/tablets ?
