Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. -John Wooden Walking on water and writing software to specification are easy as long as both are frozen.--Edward V. Berard Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. Douglas Adam - Author of "Hitchhikers Guide" series The shortest answer is doing the thing. --Ernest Hemingway If all misfortunes were laid in one common heap whence everyone must take an equal portion, most people would be contented to take their own and depart." --Socrates, If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else. --Yogi Berra “Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.”--Charles Darwin I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone. My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.--Bjarne Stroustrup Otter: "I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!" Bluto: "And we're just the guys to do it." --Animal House “Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently—they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward.” —Steve Jobs

One that I love, although I got a different version first time: "The first 90 percent of the code accounts for the first 90 percent of the development time. The remaining 10 percent of the code accounts for the other 90 percent of the development time." —Tom Cargill, Bell Labs I originally had this told to me with the substiturion of "job" for "code" hence making it more universally applicable. Which it is.

After having a supervisor who was rightfully afraid people would find out he didn't know what he was doing, I came up with my own paranoia qoute: "Paranoid people scare me to death." Gary L Webb And I do understand that this quoute has some fingers pointing back at myself.
