Hmm.. thats a strange aquisition. EDA tool vendor buying Automotive software company. Mentor looking for new venues since EDA market is saturated?

It's really not strange at all when you look at Mentor's existing embedded products. Mentor has been talking for years about getting more involved in the "adjacent" automotive electronics market. And Mentor is pretty involved now. The company's offerings for the automotive sector are broad and deep.
