My next question is how is this board attached to the hat?

I think caps flying around the room would be cool.

I think it needs an electronic windsock and a reverse mode, so that if it is stormy, the propellor will run in reverse and keep the beanie on one's head.

The company involved is Richco Plastic, not Ricoh.

One of the guys involved in this really wants to get his cap to hover about a foot above his head and to follow him around -- even turning when his head turns .... maybe in rev 2.0 :-)

Good suggestion -- I'll pass this on to the designer -- in fact the motor can be spun in either direction at variable speed under program control. Will you be attending Design West?

Great -- thanks for this feedback and correction -- I shall take David outside and give him a sound thrashing (he won't make this mistake again :-)

Clive: This must be a magic adapter. The ID and OD are the same. A long time ago I designed a fabricated part. The machinist insisted there was a dimension problem, I of course insisted it was correct. He later came in with a handful of metal shavings. "Here's your part" I learned my lesson.

Actually, it's the tolerances that are the same.

Unforunately know. Right now I am chained to my desk, and they change the combination daily. So is there a way to procure a beanie if you are not at the event? :)

What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
