Complex manufacturing operations depend upon a tangle of software applications to track and monitor the product and equipment. A robust software structure that was industry agnostic would be a tremendous boon to industry. So far, it seems, the solutions require an army of expensive software engineers to implement and maintain ... and generally go live long after the intended date.
What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
