Until a few years ago, we saw innovations first in the industry and then in the consumer market. Today it is reversed. That's an interesting development.

Decade of Embedded vision, surely ! Computer vision has come a long way in last decade propelled by technology, computer power and mainly advancements in algorithms. A decade ago, when algorithms took few hours to run, we are seeing real-time implementation at least on Desktop and high end mobile processors. As this technology makes inroads to consumer devices, processing power, standardisation of (hardware) video analytics algorithm blocks and practical algorithms will need to come together.

Very interesting article. As a human machine interface design company, we are sure to see this come into play in the coming years. Probably sooner than later from the sound of it! Thanks for the information.
