Decade of Embedded vision, surely ! Computer vision has come a long way in last decade propelled by technology, computer power and mainly advancements in algorithms. A decade ago, when algorithms took few hours to run, we are seeing real-time implementation at least on Desktop and high end mobile processors. As this technology makes inroads to consumer devices, processing power, standardisation of (hardware) video analytics algorithm blocks and practical algorithms will need to come together.

Until a few years ago, we saw innovations first in the industry and then in the consumer market. Today it is reversed. That's an interesting development.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
