I didn't hear much about TRILL but I see it figures highly in HP's work. BTW, keep me on the invite list for your good IEEE events!

Intel jumps in pretty soon and even put out reference design and alpha software soon. Any infos or links from Intel are welcome.

Rick, thanks for this slide show, very interesting to the say the least. It looks like it is not just he IoT but exploding media content is finally creating a radical re-think of networking on the whole. Was there any mention of TRILL (Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links) at the SDN event? Readers may also want to check out the presentations at the Silicon Valley IEEE Comsoc's website: http://www.ewh.ieee.org/r6/scv/comsoc/index.php http://www.ewh.ieee.org/r6/scv/comsoc/ComSoc_2012_Presentations.php The July event has Dr. Guru Parulkar's slides on SDN. Good point. I am checking with the headline editor now. Clearly SDN in its current form is entirely about data center and business networks.

Thanks for the report but is there a clear link between SDN/Openflow and IoT ? High performance versus low-power connected devices ?
