Intel jumps in pretty soon and even put out reference design and alpha software soon. Any infos or links from Intel are welcome.

Rick, thanks for this slide show, very interesting to the say the least. It looks like it is not just he IoT but exploding media content is finally creating a radical re-think of networking on the whole. Was there any mention of TRILL (Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links) at the SDN event? Good point. I am checking with the headline editor now. Clearly SDN in its current form is entirely about data center and business networks.

Thanks for the report but is there a clear link between SDN/Openflow and IoT ? High performance versus low-power connected devices ?

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
