I was wondering if this could be employed on typical electric cars as opposed to just heavy load vehicles? This would both add to the drive range and improve efficiency as well. If it could be coupled into the regen brakes for charging the batteries that would be a nice possibly lower cost way to add shock energy into the batteries.
Making lemonade out of lemons by converting potholes to energy. A brilliant idea - wish I'd thought of it. With all the interest in generating energy from ocean waves, we completely missed the nearby source of motion we all drive which has very considerable force behind it. I can't wait to see these as a feature in all vehicles.
Drones are, in essence, flying autonomous vehicles. Pros and cons surrounding drones today might well foreshadow the debate over the development of self-driving cars. In the context of a strongly regulated aviation industry, "self-flying" drones pose a fresh challenge. How safe is it to fly drones in different environments? Should drones be required for visual line of sight – as are piloted airplanes? Join EE Times' Junko Yoshida as she moderates a panel of drone experts.
