Larger creatures are easier to remote control

Mounting something that small you likely can lose several prototypes and several bugs before a success.

Beagles, and Dachsunds would be better for spying on yuppies for example.

Great idea and execution. There're a lot of things we can learn via biomimicry!

It's about time we've found a use for these creatures. I'm all for it. I am curious about how effective this will be, though.

Lol, yeah those creatures have insisted to live with us so we've got to find them some work...sounds good to me because i'm imagining for instance in a rescue mission where other animals or people can not get to. Roaches can crawl through the rubble and find people or otherwise confirm their absence.

You know, honrestly, as we continue to shrink electronics, eventually we should be able to use ants. Right?

Right. Microscopic job for sure but why not...the smaller it is the more flexible.

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
