I love Nixie Tubes -- you are absolutely right that it gives the right vintage feel as an add-on to an old truck. Funny, though, when I've seen the Nixie tube watches I feel like they look very futuristic!!!

May the force be with you, and may you have plenty of spare tubes!

(They are not so hot under extreme vibration, unless custom made)

(Nixies are a tad better than plain non custom filament tubes)

I like the vintage feel in this video also, however i am curious as to what are some of the modern day practical uses of nixie tubes.

I like the vintage feel in this video also, however i am curious as to whether they  still have many vital technology applications now.

@Nnanci: what are some of the modern day practical uses of nixie tubes

Before 7-segment LED displays came on the scene, Nixie tubes were the height of technology. Today, I don't know about "practical uses of Nixie tubes," I just knwo that they look really cool and retro. For example, I LOVE my nixie-tube watch from Cathode Corner

LOL -- I do have a couple of spare tubes for my Nixie tube writswatch, but I hope the existing ones don't fail, because replacing them will be a mega-pain
