Hantro Video IP missing

NO RATINGS
Your article is missing Hantro Video IP, the market leader with more than 75 licensees including several tier-1 semiconductor companies. The latest Hantro G2 IP supports not only H.265/HEVC but also Google's new VP9 video format.

Thanks for adding Hantro to the list.

I think that Hantro, originally founded in Oulu, Finland, is now owned by VeriSilicon Holdings Co. Ltd. (Shanghai, China).

Some people seem to be saying that Google's VP9 is dead in the water because of a lack of support. Hantro, which is supporting VP9, clearly thinks it is significant.

Allegro HEVC decoder IP

Peter,

Your article is also missing the Allegro HEVC/H.265 hardware video IP. Allegro demonstrated its 4K capable HEVC decoder at IBC2012, and in many other tradeshows since then.

There is much competition in the video IP business...

Drones are, in essence, flying autonomous vehicles. Pros and cons surrounding drones today might well foreshadow the debate over the development of self-driving cars. In the context of a strongly regulated aviation industry, "self-flying" drones pose a fresh challenge. How safe is it to fly drones in different environments? Should drones be required for visual line of sight – as are piloted airplanes? Join EE Times' Junko Yoshida as she moderates a panel of drone experts.
