@Antedeluvian: there is even one in leather...

Oooh -- it says "Not only are these pens eye-catching, they make the perfect for gift for anyone with style."

I've got style, although admittedly it's of an unconventional type -- but "
grunge" is a style, right? LOL

Max

I will stop off at my local Staples on the way home this evening

In case that doesn't work-

These take a 3.8" refill so maybe they are short as well. I would phone Goldspot and ask for advice. In this range there is even one in leather

@Antedeluvian: I googled "stubby pens". Here's one.

You are the king of Googling -- this "Roadster" sounds like just the thing -- the reviewer said "I found the Roadster at my local Staples and fell in love with it right away. It's a thick, fairly stubby pen just under 4.5" long..."

I will stop off at my local Staples on the way home this evening

@TonyTib: Depends on your budget and interests...

On the one hand it's a pen (or pencil) -- just about any writing implement will do -- I was actually planning on sawing a regular pencil in half.

On the other hand, you can't put a price on "Cool" LOL

What power plugs do they use in Brazil

The recent comments to this blog have just reminded me that I'll be going to Brazil in a couple of weeks -- I'll need a couple of wall socket power adapters -- I'm not sure if the ones I have will work -- I'll need to look this up.

@Junko: Wow, this is pretty impressive! I mean everything is so neatly organized.

It really helps to have a system -- I always store things in exactly the same place in my backpack. Of course new items do get dropped in there, which is why the day before a trip I take everything out and completely re-pack it.

Depends on your budget and interests.  The pen length will be limited by the refill, so it'd have to be a pen that takes a shorter refill.

You can get short plastic Japanese pens from places such as JetPens.  If you want something expensive and classy, check out the various EDC (Every Day Carry) sites.  Or ask Mr. PenAddict a question.

To show a couple possilbilites, the Kaweco Liliput is pretty small, and is available in fountain pen and ballpoint styles; the Lamy Pico is in about the same price range.

I am with you Junko - my bag is one big black hole that objects are constantlty being sucked into, usually the thing I am looking for most frantically!
