Very good tweak of oscilloscope

This is really a very good use of old oscilloscope (If you still have working old oscilloscope!!!). The webpage explains it in a very nice manner along with the required firmware for a specific oscilloscope model and brand listed. Yes if more people will contribute the will of supporting models will go on increasing!!

Amazing!  Heathkit coming back is hard to believe, but I'll certainly be interested in hearing more.  I'm wondering what products in kit form can possibly compete with mass-produced electronics?

Hmm, I just thought of one... electric vehicle kits and retrofits.  This kind of gets back to Heath's original product: an aeroplane in kit form.

Old oscilloscopes

Sounds like a good project to do with kids, but once it's done, you have a big clunky clock. Maybe the oscilloscope is more interesting as an oscilloscope than a clock. But again it's not about the final product....

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems. Signal integrity sage Ransom Stephens will explain how PAM4 differs from NRZ and what to expect in design, measurement, and signal analysis.
