Hi Brian, I'd like to know if they are working in that area. Finding out here is fine! If you'd like to follow up, that would be great. I'm seeing a lot of integration of simluation and test instrumentation. This had been going on for years, but seems to be picking up in the last year or two. NI's acquisiton of AWR is just one example of where this is happening on a merger/acquisition scale, but it is also happening at the other major test equipment manufacturers. Some are partnering with EDA companies, others are exploiting in-house capabilities.

Thanks for the article, Brian. You said "...[W]e can now create devices that run at higher operating temperatures, which means that the devices start being used in these area -- such as on an engine block, which was not possible in the past. These all require innovations in process technology, innovations in circuit design, and innovations in applications."  What are some of the main innovations that make it possible to use devices in an engine block?

Hi Janine - for some reason this system will not allow me to respond to your question, so I have to do it in a new comment. No, our conversation did not go in that direction, but would you be interested in me following up on thast or do you think this is something that woulkd be more appropriate for the DesignCon Community?

Hi Brian, Did they talk at all about integration of simluation with test equipment?

Like many of you, I was saddened to hear the news of Leonard Nimoy's death. His Star Trek character Mr. Spock was an inspiration to many of us who entered technical fields.
