I don't know about you, but thsi would have blown my mind as a kid. To see stuff like this in movies and cartoons, then to see someone actually building it!

@LiketoBike: Shoot...I avidly watched Johnny Quest as a kid.

I hang my head in shame to report that I don't recall even hearing the name "Johnny Quest" ... but I was brought up in the UK, so maybe that explains my lack of world knowledge :-)

Shoot...I avidly watched Johnny Quest as a kid.  As an older kid :-)  (and somewhat later; you can date that by knowing when JQ was on the air...) I bought the complete DVD set.  Now I can watch Dr. Benton Quest whup up on that big old spider whenever I want :-)

That's right. I knew this whole thing sounded familiar. I've seen that one. And no, I'm not really a Johnny Quest fan, but I do have kids that are. :)

@OldSchoolTwidget: I still miss him.

I know what you mean -- my dad passed away in Jan 2000 -- at least we all got to see the start of the new millennium together -- even now when I'm in a book store and I see a book on say "silent movies" or "variety hall theater" I think to myself "I'll get that for dad" and then I remember that he's gone...

It brings tears to my eyes, because I DID have a dad like that.  He taught me the resistor color code before most kids learn to read.  He died much too soon.  I still miss him.

This robot looks like the Lunar Module on legs. Maybe we send one to the Moon?

What fun! And working with his kids, too!

Speaking of brothers, is this guy related to Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs? In any case, I think he needs his own show in addition to the Kickstarter funding.
