Max, here was a million dollar idea that you missed! "As I'm wriggling my way into position, I hear a really loud splash six stories below me in the basement." You could have invented a wearable harness for a scope....

Now you have me feeling sorry for the oscilloscope -- it's now spent ~35 years under water at the bottom of "the pit of doom" the poor little thing...
