@Charles, Max....I don't mind heights and would go and stand on that boulder.  I might even throw myself off with a parachute,   But I would NOT walk across that rope!

I had to leave the chat early, but one thing caught my eye when I went back and read through it all:

"@Caleb: I kind of think the term IoT will just go away.

I wish ... but I disagree ... once a "meme" has taken hold and started breeding ... it's %^&^ difficult to stop"

Remember when "Office Automation" was the rage that was going to take over the world? Also, "Desktop Publishing"? I haven't heard either of those in a long time

It is difficult for labels like this to go away, but "IoT" is pretty awkward in my opinion. But, I don't have any suggested replacements to offer up.

@FlyByPC: "Max -- no time to explain. Reverse the Z-axis direction, and quickly!"

LOL ... And if I called my wife and said something equivalent, her immediate response would be "Why?" and I'd say "I said ther'e no time to explain!" and she woudl reply "Why not?" .... and so it would go until I hit the ground :-)

@junko: I must say the view of the cloud is Beautiful!

I agree -- this is a mind-blowing picture -- but I'm glad I'm not the person in it :-)

NEXT UPCOMING BROADCAST
In conjunction with unveiling of EE Times’ Silicon 60 list, journalist & Silicon 60 researcher Peter Clarke hosts a conversation on startups in the electronics industry. One of Silicon Valley's great contributions to the world has been the demonstration of how the application of entrepreneurship and venture capital to electronics and semiconductor hardware can create wealth with developments in semiconductors, displays, design automation, MEMS and across the breadth of hardware developments. But in recent years concerns have been raised that traditional venture capital has turned its back on hardware-related startups in favor of software and Internet applications and services. Panelists from incubators join Peter Clarke in debate.
