Hi Max - I would have posted a comment earlier but after clicking through on the Earth Breathes video i got distracted by all the other great videos. This one on a meteor exploding and the resulting debris ring is breathtaking!
Reminds me of the the Professor Challenger story "When the World Screamed" (1928), by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The story hyphotheses that Earth is a large, living creature moving through the Ether, with a soft, sensitive core inside a hard protective shell.
The water battery bit reminds me of the Kurt Vonnegut novel "Cat's Cradle". In the book, a scientist was experimenting with different crystalline structures for water ice and ended up discovering one that would be frozen at room temperature. Naturally, at some point, a seed of ice-nine gets into the ocean and freezes everything.
Thanx for your video of the Breathing Earth! It's the most 'Though Provoking Image' you have come up with so far, even if not named as such! Make sure you check out other posts from the site. The tornado or hurricane posts in particular are also Thought Provoking...
What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
