I think it would be 28nm which you said 26nm.

They cannot sell their product to server with some problem at 28nm.

But the power consumption reduction ans up-grading to DDR4 make me think it would be 25nm.

It came to my attention even their DDR3 4Gb was already at 26 nm: https://chipworks.secure.force.com/catalog/ProductDetails?sku=SAM-K4B4G0846C-BCK0&viewState=DetailView

So it could be even smaller by now.

2X performance and 2x power improvement? Souns about right. If you look at personal computer performance over the past few years, that 2X seems to happen about every 3 to 4 years...

@Uplinq today Samsung talked about LPDDR4 coming in 2015.

2x faster clock and 2x more bw than lpddr3 and 40% I/O power reduction

As we go down the shrink path, the fab cost goes up, but the cost per MBIT go down.  It is true that the first guy down the cutting edge is getting more of the pain, but they can get more of the profit if they do it right.

Its wonderful how Samsung is selling its 28nm technology as "20nm-class". I wonder what they call their 7nm technology research

Is it just Samsung or any other suppliers also are planning for DRAM 4?

So this is probably 28 nm, with 25 nm on the way.

And here we go! Wonder who their first customers are. OEMs or memory module manufacturers.

Like many of you, I was saddened to hear the news of Leonard Nimoy's death. His Star Trek character Mr. Spock was an inspiration to many of us who entered technical fields.
