I'm glad you enjoyed my blog -- I look forward to hearing what you think about the book Robopocalypse once you've had a chance to get into it -- some of it seems to be very ruturistic .. .until you read the various state-of-the-art articles here on EE Times .. .then you realize it's closer than you think...

I just read your  Was I just talking to an artificial intelligence? blog and I've got goosebumps all over. I've been using Apple's Siri and have been loving the human-like interactions it enables between man-and-machine. However, in the wrong hands these AIs could indeed start fooling us in less than savory ways. As a defense strategy, I've just downloaded Robopocalypse and plan to read it for tips on how to defend myself from the dark side of AI :)

Every time I see something like this, it makes me think of Robopocalypse by Daniel H. Wilson (Click Here to see my review).

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
