I think you might be better off to pick a specific type of business instead of a specific company. For exmple, are service based ones exploding? Or is it dev boards? or some other kind of open source system.

@making society: OK at the risk of asking you to pick your favorite child: Is there one or two of these startups you would recommned I focus on as promising and not widely known?

We hyave told the stories of some of these companies. Junko, for example, did a story about Chumby a few years back.

But it woulod be itnjeresting for us to tell some more of their stories. Sign me up for one., Any suggestions of who to persue?

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
