New twist on an old idea?

This looks like a great reinvention of the old protoboard.  Would definitely look at using these for prototyping and small scale, custom products.

@Caleb: I wouldn't mind using one of these. it would let me miniaturize a few things without going the next step to making a custom pcb.

That's what I thought the difference was too. I hadn't seen a board like that before, though I may have just not been exposed to it.


I wouldn't mind using one of these. it would let me miniaturize a few things without going the next step to making a custom pcb.

@betjet: How is this particular board any different from the pad-per-hole Vectorbords we've been using for the last 30 or more years?

The primary difference is the round (through-hole) pads on one side and the square (surface-mount) pads on the other. The folks at SchmartBoard say that -- as far s they no -- no one else is doing this -- also that it's almost embarrasingly simple as a concept, but that it's provng to be very usable and polular in practice.
