New trend in hardware development!

Good to learn about the "HAXLR8R Program". There is a clear trend in hardware development aiming connectivity to cloud, taking a faster development approach. "Not re-inventing the wheel' means using each other's' devices. Stacks & software and hence making things more "open" to others. It is a win-win and also drives innovative products with a quick turnaround time.

@Duane: Did you see Karen's comment (below) that she would buy you the boards if you wanted to evaluate them and present your findings at Design West 2014?

I've been running a few of these "easy connect" devices through their paces. So far, they don't all necessarily live up to their promise. Or, maybe my expectations are too high.

I'm going to keep working on it. Right now, I'm trying to evaluate the Ti CC3000 and an Electric Imp.

@kinnar: This is making me wondering where these developments will take the electronics industry!!!

I think where it takes us will be far stranger than we can imagine ... I cannot wait to see the future :-)

looks like there is numerous possible products can be made by using the elcetronics. Very Interesting.

@drFPGA  I'll buy the boards for anyone who wants to give some of these a test ride and present the results at DESIGN West, 2014  April 1-3, San Jose. Contact me at karen.field@ubm.com.
