I guess in any career -- especially when you are moving upward, the timing is everything. Noonen, in my opinion, did a great job at NXP when it came to explaining the company's vision for high-performance mixed signal strategy; I would like to know more about what exactly were the "turnaround" moments for Glofo in the last two years...
Perhaps Junko but I remain sceptical...I worked for number of CEOs in my life and have difficulty seeing anyone making a dramatic difference in 18 months in an organization of certain complexity that has lots of inertia...perhaps some GloFo employees want to chime in
I know Mike, and he's a smart, but let's say he's your average 'turnaround guy'. So, he goes from the classic publicly held or private equity world to an Emirate-owned entity. And has a very short stint. Does that say more about Mike, or about what it means to work for an Emirate?
Sure, I understand why many people would take a stint like that...but saying that he actually made a siginifant impact in 18 month is overstated...even Steve Jobs probably could not make an impact in such a short period of time...markets forces, customers, products already in deevlopment, thousands of people already working in GF likely had much larger impact than one short lived CEO
I know little about Mike Noonen and his capabilities. However, another outstanding Marketing executive left GF about 1-2 months earlier -- Kevin Meyer.
