According to Applied Materials, all display manufacturers considering pixel densities above 250 pixels per inch will eventually make the switch to metal-oxide.

PIN-panels for X-ray medical imaging are now in amorphous silicon TFT.

When will they go in metal-oxide like displays ?

Applied will probably play a major role in the future of display manufacturing. Display industry is going through many more advancements than any one would have thought majority because of the importance of displays in every consumer device these days.
