CloudFS (Singapore), Cloudian (Japan), and FileForce (Japan): None of these countries has even produced an earth shattering technologies. Cloud computing platforms are now the domain of large IT companies in the USA!

Thanks Collin for summarizing few interesting companies and their technologies. It shows how startups are pushing the technology boundaries and some of them are finding buyers in deep pocket companies.
Most startups do need investors. I don't know if I would want Intel to be one of them. They do have deep pockets, but they may want more in return than they invest. If you have a good exit strategy, it could work.
Cloud storage is a big thing! FileForce and Cloudian both offer storage, as you say, but Cloudian is also partnered with cloud computing environments of Citrix Cloud Platform, Apache CloudStack and OpenStack. And Intel describes CloudFX as a "cloud strategy consulting and implementation service".
Intel Capital is really covering its bases of late, backing a wide array of promising technologies. The one I don't get, however, is the online car rental company Savaari Car Rentals (India)--anybody got the low down on them?
