@josyb: Four more months gone, and no progress.

I'm working on bringing the articles over slowely -- are there any in particular that you want to see that I should bring over earlier?

@Max:

It's me again :(

Four more months gone, and no progress.

Soon it'll be four more years. I guess the bottom line is that it(of course) costs money and both Xilinx and your employers put that above their customers?

I'm relieved! I am so thrilled with the sensation of being alive, I can hardly breathe. It was very strange the passage back from the other dimension, although I don't have any recollection of even being there for a mere nanosecond. It is good to be back, though. Thanks for the pinch! Even though it still hurts a little, I'm glad to be back. :0)

@Endless Energy: ...pinch me as a confirmation that I am still alive and well.

Consider yourself pinched -- you'll see a lot of familiar faces here, like Crusty and Adam Taylor from the UK, Duane Benson from the USA, Javi (Garcia) from Spain...

Welcome home!

Well, Max, I think this is the end of the thread! your latest April 22, 2014 post. :-{

After spending a long, long time away from this community, and a fairly long time to find out what happened to the URL I was used to, I feel I am coming out of a comma caused by a serious hit on the head ... well, ... looks like ... it is the new home for All Programmable Planet. Please, pinch me as a confirmation that I am still alive and well. Oooff!

In case I am still alive, sorry for being late to the New World of All Programmable Planet.

@josyb: I would have thought that making a 'static' copy of the deceased web-site would be easy enough.

Don't get me started!!! (mutter mutter grubble grumble)

@Max: Were there any in particcular that you want me to bring over as a priority?

Of course I'm vain enough to say my comments :)

But they are almost meaningless without the 'context', isn't it?

I would have thought that making a 'static' copy of the deceased web-site would be easy enough. I'm glad I'm not using Xilinx devices, with the attitude they show ...

Lesson learned (again) if you put something on the internet, keep a local copy.

@Josyb: I just wondered whether the contents of the "All Programmable Planet" web-site ever will be accessible again?

Check out my responses to otherr comments -- I'm bringing them over whenever I get a free moment -- I could so do with an assistant (sob sob).

Were there any in particcular that you want me to bring over as a priority?

@Chipmuenk: ... there are several post I'd like to re-read which I haven't archived (who makes local backups anyway when everything is in the CLOUD?), especially by Jan and Adam.

Jan decided to republish all of his APP articles on his own server/blog. I started bringing Adam's over, but then came EE Live! (and stuff) ... Adam's articles are my next priority...

What are the engineering and design challenges in creating successful IoT devices? These devices are usually small, resource-constrained electronics designed to sense, collect, send, and/or interpret data. Some of the devices need to be smart enough to act upon data in real time, 24/7. Are the design challenges the same as with embedded systems, but with a little developer- and IT-skills added in? What do engineers need to know? Rick Merritt talks with two experts about the tools and best options for designing IoT devices in 2016. Specifically the guests will discuss sensors, security, and lessons from IoT deployments.
