Yeah, I didn't know about the pumping issue. I just assumed that it was the panic period of sudden acceleration that was causing problems. This is even more scary because even though I'm a fairly calm person, I could see my self falling victim in this scenario.

I agree with Frank. Great video. If you haven't watched it, take a minute. So, where did we learn to pump the brakes? I remember doing it on my first car (77 Pontiac Sunbird), but I don't remember when or why. (I also had to keep my foot on the gas and brake to keep it from stalling at red lights, but that's another story...)
