@DrFPGA: Lattice seems to be on point with a complete solution- devices, IP, development kit and an application expert as a partner.

I agree -- I'm very impressed with the stuff Lattice uis coming up with -- they target specific areas of interest like HetNet and Sensor Fusion and then leap into the fray with gusto and abandon (and great solutions).

Lattice seems to be on point with a complete solution- devices, IP, development kit and an application expert as a partner. Too often FPGA guys roll out a solution that doesn't include real world application knowledge. It's difficult to create this capability in house since standards and algorithms evolve so quickly. Better to find the right partner and leverage their knowledge. Well done Lattice.

.i.e. next big thing for making sure people in metro areas can get a decent cellular connection. Lattice has big time competition from just about everybody trying to enable these things.
