Retina display having lowest PPI

I did not know the Apple's "Retina Display" has the lowest Pixels Per Inch (PPI) as 326 as compared the its competitor's display, where as I thought the opposite...thanks for the insight!!

The comment on display resolution was particularly interesting. As they said, it may already be to the point where any more doesn't matter as far as the visuals. The hidden cost to even more resolution is going to be decreased responsiveness as the software has to scale images. All else being equal, that can affect the user experience.

This was really a very good article; I will love to know more about what Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba are doing in the same area.
AMOLED was expected to survive longer in the market but lest see if IGZO can beat it in terms of price and performance.

I don't know, I know plenty of young'uns that were really impressed with the resolution of new displays in the last couple years in both android and iphone. There's been some compelling competition lately on the display front.

IGZO's future and Japan Display Inc.

This is a very informative analysis.

While we know that Sharp has been betting big on its IGZO panels, we also know that its premium price  IGZO panels command has prevented them from deeper market penetration the company originally hoped.

Meanwhile, I hear that Japan Display Inc., which consolidated struggling LCD operations of Hitachi, Toshiba and Sony, seems to be doing a lot better than anyone had expected.

We will report more on that later.
