@Michael Dunn : I have to say that the air did turn blue on getting the email rejecting my application for an account at Aldec, especially as the automated e-mail gave three possible reasons for the refusal.
I think I might send the local Aldec office (it's only 30 miles from where I am sitting), a link to this blog and see if it improves my chances of gaining an account, instead of an automated reply saying the refusal could be for three issues.
I know that the software is expensive to produce, but so is the development of the chips it is designed to programme.
