Ah OK. That's why I seem to have less friends now than I used to.  I thought that was because of the drooling.  (Now you know where to find an old fool when you need one..... :-)

@David: ...at least I don't forget about old friends :-)

How can you be so sure? If you have forgotten them then you won't remember that you've forgotten them... Ha!

There are some rather nice videos of future touch screen possibilities here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cf7IL_eZ38

and here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-GXO_urMow

As they (Dow Corning glass) point out, we're not that far off what they portray.   Not a lot of technical detail, and I think their comments about open operating systems are a bit optimistic.  but fun to watch.  Anyone who knows more about thees technologies got any comments on them?

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems. Signal integrity sage Ransom Stephens will explain how PAM4 differs from NRZ and what to expect in design, measurement, and signal analysis.
