@Zewde: Could that puzzle be used somehow to some sort of practical end or application?

My "knee-jerk" reaction is to say "Almost certainly!" I base this on the fact that I don't recall learning anything that did not eventually come in handy for something or other :-)

I do so love it when Excel is used for electonics purposes. However in your case I see it was only a tool to support your insight.

I hope you don't mind if I subvert the thread and point your readers to my blogs on the use of Excel in electronics on Planet Analog. There are at least 4 more to come over the next 6 months. One is due out any day now.
