Exploiting ultrasound sensing seems like a smart and affordable way of building control devices...any idea how much these devices would cost? Kris

I guess I'm less worried about the cost than I am about the functionality.  I think adding this to the phone is pretty cheap since the speaker and microphone are already there.  It would be nice to not get fingerprints on the display anymore, but I could see issues with accidental gestures.  Just moving the phone to your ear could cause a recognized gesture.  I also wonder how far away this would work.  For a TV, it would have to work at 10 to 20 feet away to be useful.  This could be very difficult to use for people who talk with their hands.  But, I guess it's like all new technologies.  We have to get used to it.

Valid concerns @daleste...I would love to try a device like this though...no comments can replace the real experience
