This is very interesting -- I'm currently using PWM to drive antique analog meters (see Creating an Inamorata Prognostication Engine) and as far as I'm concerned it's "the more PWM outputs, the merrier"

Max: The atmel ATUC256L3U have 36 PWM outputs. And if you really want to push it , you could probably convince an XMOS mcu to offer pwm on every pin , meaning 90 PWM.

My mind is well and truly boggled -- I remember when I thought it was amazingly cool for a MCU to offer one or two PWM pins ...
