The name is not catchy now but it would definitely get known more and more in the future. It would become famous over time.

The life sciences side doesn't matter to me. All of my contact with Agilent for all of its 15 years has been with test & measurement.

If their products serve the test and measurement market well, the company will be OK even without @Keysight. Engineers are good like that—it's what you bring to the table that counts.

BTW looks like the Twitter handle for Keysight is already taken.

In less than a decade the old HP will have laid-off their last employee and keysight can purchase the original name back, I hope the medical business fairs better.

I'm pretty sure that one month from now I'll see a headline about a new product from Keysight and I'll go "who?"

Probably not for a year. As the articles says, Keysight won;t be independent until near the end of 2014. It will become a subsidiary of Agilent on August 1.

I can think of a few ways to twist Keysight, but I'll keep them private.

Like many of you, I was saddened to hear the news of Leonard Nimoy's death. His Star Trek character Mr. Spock was an inspiration to many of us who entered technical fields.
