This is very good news for the electronics industry. I am sure sales of Wearable devices will definitely show significant increase in coming years. Products like Google glass and smartwatches will become popular among end users.

I'm looking forward to that time when wearables are embedded in the fabric, like the Move concept fabric. Wearing a watch or wristband is unappealing to many, and wearing glasses even less appealing.

I can imagine a point in time where our wearables are embedded in the fabrics themselves, or possibly hidden in accessories instead of flaunted like google glass or fitbit.

The smaller thform factor the more likely these devices are to fly under the radar, as it were.

Personally, I think the future of wearables is going to be much less bold and obvious than what many of these earlier things are. We are going to be covered in tech and it won't even be obvious to the casual observer.

Does anyone have a bold prediction for how wearables will do? What about a not-so-bold prediction? I'm just curious to hear whether or not the community sees the same kind of traction tha some in the industry are prediction.

As data rates begin to move beyond 25 Gbps channels, new problems arise. Getting to 50 Gbps channels might not be possible with the traditional NRZ (2-level) signaling. PAM4 lets data rates double with only a small increase in channel bandwidth by sending two bits per symbol. But, it brings new measurement and analysis problems.
